Tom's Verdict
👾 Swarm Me got off to a fairly brutal start for me. My very first attempt lasted all of 16 seconds, which quickly made it clear this wasn't going to be a leisurely stroll. Thankfully, the game does a good job of encouraging you to jump straight back in, and before long I could already feel myself improving.
⚡ One of the things I enjoyed most was that clear sense of progression. Each run taught me something new, whether it was how to position myself more effectively or which upgrades suited my playstyle. By the end of my session I had worked my way up to surviving fifteen waves, and that steady improvement felt genuinely rewarding.
🤖 The action is fast, responsive and easy to get into. Enemy numbers quickly become overwhelming, forcing you to keep moving while making split-second decisions about upgrades and positioning. It creates plenty of exciting moments without ever feeling unfair.
🎮 Where Swarm Me fell just short of becoming a favourite for me was its identity. Everything it does is solid and enjoyable, but I never quite found that one standout mechanic that made me think, "This is what makes Swarm Me different." It plays well, but I was left wishing for one extra twist to really set it apart from the growing number of games in this genre.
🚀 That said, I still had a great time with it. The satisfying progression, enjoyable combat and constant drive to beat your previous run kept me playing far longer than my first sixteen seconds suggested I would. Fans of twin-stick survivors and bullet heaven games should find plenty to enjoy here.
For me, Swarm Me earns a 👍 Worth a Look. It may not reinvent the genre, but it's a polished and entertaining survival shooter that's easy to recommend to anyone looking for another addictive "just one more run" experience. 👾
