About The Game

⚔️ Monster Looter is a free-to-play action incremental game that combines fast-paced monster battles with permanent progression through repeated ascensions. As you defeat enemies and collect gold, you'll purchase upgrades, strengthen your character and gradually unlock additional gameplay systems designed to make each adventure more powerful than the last.

💰 Throughout your journey you'll encounter a variety of upgrades, equipment and progression paths, with each completed run rewarding Ascension Eyes that can be spent on permanent unlocks for future playthroughs. The game aims to encourage long-term progression by steadily expanding the tools and abilities available as you continue to advance.

👹 With simple controls and an accessible gameplay loop, Monster Looter is easy to pick up and begin playing, making it an approachable introduction to incremental action games. As an evolving free-to-play title, it offers players the opportunity to experience its progression systems while working towards unlocking new features over multiple runs.

👎 Not For Me

Tom's Verdict

👹 Monster Looter gave me a surprisingly enjoyable first impression. The opening run was satisfying, progression initially felt rewarding and I was genuinely interested to see what each ascension would unlock. The core idea has plenty of potential, and I could easily see why fans of incremental games might be drawn in by its promise of long-term progression.

📈 Unfortunately, it was during my second run that the experience began to lose its momentum. While I was unlocking new systems with each ascension, very little about the actual gameplay changed. The same enemies, the same environments and almost identical progression meant each new run felt too similar to the one before it. Rather than feeling excited to discover something new, I found myself repeating the same journey with only very small differences between each attempt.

💭 I genuinely believe there's the foundation of a good game here, and with more meaningful unlocks, greater variety between ascensions and stronger incentives to continue, Monster Looter could become a much more engaging experience. As it stands, however, the repetitive progression ultimately left me losing interest before I felt compelled to continue. For me, this is one of those games with plenty of potential, but one that simply wasn't able to hold my attention over the longer term.
