Tom's Verdict
💜 One of the things I always try to keep in mind when playing an Early Access game is that I'm not looking at a finished product. I'm looking at a work in progress. Bearly Awesome is exactly that. There are some rough edges that still need smoothing out, but underneath those rough edges is a genuinely enjoyable little adventure that I had fun playing.
🐻 During my playthrough I encountered a few issues, including a soft lock that required a restart and some situations where moving blocks could leave you with no choice but to restart a level. There are also a few quality-of-life features missing, such as basic graphics and audio settings. However, these are the sort of issues Early Access exists to uncover, and none of them stopped me from wanting to continue exploring the game.
☕ The most important thing for me is whether I enjoyed my time with the game, and the answer here is yes. I completed all currently available levels in under an hour and came away wanting to see where the developer takes the project next. Considering the game is currently free and actively being improved, I have no problem recommending Bearly Awesome to players who enjoy cosy adventures and don't mind encountering the occasional work-in-progress moment.
