Tom's Verdict
💜 Even as an early playtest, **Winter Whiskers** left a fantastic first impression. The beautiful snowy village, lovable little bear protagonist and wonderfully cosy atmosphere immediately drew me in, and by the time I reached the end of the available content, I was already looking forward to seeing what the full game has to offer. Better still, throughout my playthrough I didn't encounter any bugs at all, which is always encouraging at this stage of development.
🐻 The only gameplay issue I came across was when using a controller, where adjusting the camera with the right stick felt noticeably slower than I'd have liked. I quickly found myself reaching for the mouse whenever I wanted to change my view. Thankfully, this feels more like a simple balancing tweak than a major problem, and I'd be surprised if it wasn't something the developers refine before release.
❄️ While exploring I also spotted a small typo in the credits, with the word **"Design"** misspelled for one of the designers. It's a tiny detail that certainly doesn't detract from the experience, but it shows I really did take the time to explore everything the playtest had to offer. Overall, Winter Whiskers already has all the ingredients of a wonderfully cosy adventure, and I'll definitely be returning when the full game is released.
