Tom's Verdict
πΏ Muri: Wildwoods immediately won me over with its wonderfully relaxing approach to gameplay. Rather than throwing enemies, timers or pressure at you, it simply asks you to explore, clean up pollution and help nature thrive again. It's the kind of experience that lets you settle into its world and enjoy every moment at your own pace.
π§ Watching the island transform as you clean away the corruption is incredibly satisfying. Every area you restore brings back vibrant colours, wildlife and life itself, making your efforts feel genuinely meaningful. I never felt like I was simply ticking objectives off a listβI was making a visible difference to the world around me.
π¦ The atmosphere is one of the game's greatest strengths. Beautiful environments, charming creatures and a peaceful soundtrack create a world that is simply lovely to spend time in. I found myself wandering off the main path just to see what I might discover next, and the game continually rewarded that curiosity.
β¨ One feature I particularly appreciated was the inclusion of an 'Unstick' button. It might seem like a small detail, but thoughtful quality-of-life features like this show the developers have considered the player's experience. Thankfully I never needed to use it, but it's reassuring to know it's there if required.
πΌ By the time I finished playing, Muri: Wildwoods had become one of my most anticipated upcoming cosy games. It captures everything I personally enjoy about the genre: relaxing exploration, meaningful progression, beautiful presentation and gameplay that never feels stressful. I happily spent over an hour cleaning the island without once feeling bored.
For me, Muri: Wildwoods comfortably earns a π Tom Recommends. If you enjoy cosy adventures, nature restoration and games that leave you feeling relaxed rather than exhausted, this is definitely one to keep an eye on. πΏπ
