About The Game

⚔️ Incremental RTS blends fast-paced real-time strategy with the satisfying progression of an incremental game. Each level throws you into increasingly intense battles where quick decisions, good positioning and knowing when to act can make the difference between victory and having to rethink your approach.

🌳 Between battles, an extensive skill tree provides that all-important incremental progression. Upgrades allow you to steadily strengthen your forces and develop your capabilities, giving you plenty of choices about where to invest and how you want to tackle the increasingly difficult levels ahead.

🚀 Battles are deliberately quick and energetic, combining strategy with a surprising amount of instinct. There's certainly plenty to think about, but sometimes you simply have to react to what's happening on screen, making the action feel far more immediate than you might expect from a traditional incremental game.

🎵 The presentation complements the gameplay beautifully. The graphical style keeps everything clear during hectic battles, while the music fits the pace wonderfully and helps give each encounter an energetic atmosphere without distracting from the strategy.

🔥 As you progress, the challenge becomes considerably tougher. Later levels demand increasingly careful decisions and make those incremental upgrades feel genuinely important, creating a wonderfully addictive loop of battling, improving and heading straight back in to see whether you can push just one level further.

My final thoughts

Tom's Verdict

💜 Tom Recommends

⚔️ Incremental RTS is one of those games where my planned "quick look" went completely out of the window. I sat down intending to see what the current build was like, and around 90 minutes later I was still playing. More importantly, I could quite happily have carried on for several more hours.

🌳 The combination of incremental progression and real-time strategy works brilliantly. There's enough strategy involved to make you think carefully about what you're doing, but battles are fast enough that instinct also plays a big part. Add in an excellent skill tree and you get that wonderful incremental feeling of constantly becoming stronger and wondering what the next upgrade might allow you to achieve.

🎵 I also love how well everything fits together. The graphical style suits the game perfectly, the music complements the frantic action wonderfully, and despite playing a game that's still very much in development, everything I encountered felt remarkably polished.

🔥 Then I reached Level 20. This is where Incremental RTS decided I'd been having things far too easy! Levels 20 through 22 gave me a serious challenge, but rather than becoming frustrating, they made me even more determined to work out how to beat them. When a difficult level makes me want another attempt rather than reach for the quit button, the game is doing something right.

🚀 What's particularly exciting is that this isn't even the finished game yet. There's still development ahead, but based purely on what I played, the core gameplay loop is already enormously addictive. I wasn't searching for things to do to fill those 90 minutes; the game simply kept me there because I was having such a good time.

💜 I can't wait to see where Incremental RTS goes from here. It's fast, strategic, challenging and scratches that incremental itch beautifully. Very occasionally I find a game where I finish recording and immediately wish I didn't have other things to do so I could simply carry on playing. This was one of them.

For me, Incremental RTS earns a 💜 Tom Recommends for this current development version. If the finished game builds successfully on what is already here, I can see myself losing a quite ridiculous number of hours to this one. ⚔️🌳💜

Things to consider

What I Didn't Like In This Game

  • ❌ 🛠️ It's not finished yet — My biggest complaint is simply that Incremental RTS is still in development, because what I played left me wanting considerably more of it.
  • ❌ 🔥 The difficulty ramps up sharply later on — Levels 20 onwards represent a noticeable jump in challenge. I enjoyed tackling them, but some players may find the sudden increase a little unforgiving.
  • ❌ ⏳ Now I have to wait — Possibly the most serious offence of all. I found a game I could happily lose hours to, and now I have to wait for the developer to finish making it! 😄
