Tom's Verdict
Squars: Incremental Defense takes the familiar tower defence formula and blends it with incremental progression in a way that feels surprisingly satisfying. Rather than simply surviving wave after wave, you're constantly improving your position, unlocking upgrades and watching your defensive capabilities steadily grow stronger and more often than not, simply waiting for the number of cubes attacking you to be too much.
What stood out to me most was how well the game balances active decision-making with the rewarding sense of long-term progression. There is always another upgrade to chase, another improvement to make and another milestone to reach, which makes it very easy to lose track of time while playing.
If you enjoy games that combine tower defence strategy with incremental mechanics and a steady feeling of progression, Squars: Incremental Defense is definitely worth checking out. It manages to capture the addictive nature of both genres while remaining easy to pick up and enjoy.
