Tom's Verdict
I originally planned to spend around half an hour with Chillquarium, but found myself happily playing for much longer without really noticing the time. That's usually a good sign that an idle game has found the right balance between relaxing and rewarding.
The simple gameplay loop of buying fish, feeding them, watching them grow and expanding your aquariums works well, while the huge variety of fish gives you plenty of long-term goals. It's a game I'll happily keep checking back on each day to see how my collection develops.
My biggest disappointment is the lack of aquarium decorations, especially plants. Having kept tropical fish myself for many years, I couldn't help wishing for more ways to personalise each tank. Even so, Chillquarium remains a wonderfully calming idle game that I can happily recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful experience.
