Tom's Verdict
💜 Maseylia immediately impressed me with the scale of its world and how much freedom it gives the player. Rather than pushing you down a strict path, the game encourages exploration and experimentation, allowing you to discover new areas and secrets at your own pace. It reminded me of why Metroidvania games can be so satisfying when they're done well.
🚀 One of the biggest strengths of the demo was the movement system. As I unlocked new abilities and became more familiar with the controls, traversing the world became increasingly enjoyable. The environments are large enough to reward exploration without feeling overwhelming, and there was always something interesting waiting around the next corner.
☕ Like many demos, there are still areas that could benefit from additional polish, but I finished my time with Maseylia wanting to continue rather than stop. That's usually one of the strongest compliments I can give a game. If you enjoy exploration-focused Metroidvanias with plenty of secrets to uncover, this is definitely one worth keeping an eye on.
