About The Game

🚀 StoneSpace begins with you stranded alone on an alien planet after the destruction of your spacecraft. With no tools, equipment or supplies to rely on, your only option is to start gathering resources and slowly rebuild the technology needed to survive and eventually return home.

🔨 The progression system takes players on a journey through the history of human innovation. You'll begin by crafting simple stone tools before gradually unlocking pottery, farming, metalworking, machinery and increasingly advanced technologies. Every new discovery opens up further possibilities and helps push you towards your ultimate goal of building a new spaceship.

🌍 Unlike many crafting games, StoneSpace removes combat, hunger and survival mechanics entirely. Instead, the focus is placed on exploration, experimentation, base building and crafting. This creates a much more relaxed experience where players are free to learn systems at their own pace without constantly fighting against the game.

Tom's Verdict

💜 StoneSpace immediately grabbed my attention because it throws you into the world with absolutely no guidance and very little explanation. For some players that might be intimidating, but for me it created a genuine sense of discovery as I slowly worked out what I needed to do and how the various systems connected together.

🔨 One of the things I enjoyed most was the feeling of meaningful progression. Every new tool, crafting station and technology felt earned because it was built on top of everything that came before it. Even during my first ninety minutes with the demo, I found myself constantly thinking 'just one more thing' before stopping.

☕ The inventory system currently feels a little restrictive and was probably my biggest frustration during the demo. However, the core gameplay loop is incredibly enjoyable and I finished my time with StoneSpace wanting to play more rather than less. That's usually the best sign a game has done something right. I'll certainly be returning when the full version releases and I can easily recommend keeping an eye on this one.
