Tom's Verdict
💜 All Hail the Orb grabbed my attention almost immediately. I'm a big fan of incremental games, and this one gets so much right. The steady progression, quirky humour and constant stream of new things to unlock kept me looking forward to what was coming next. Whether I was improving my cultists, unlocking new rooms or simply wondering what strange surprise the game would throw at me next, I was having a genuinely great time.
🔮 My only real criticism came towards the end of the game. Once I'd unlocked most of the new mechanics, the focus shifted towards waiting for enough resources to buy the next upgrade, rather than continuing to discover new ideas. I also felt that systems like the achievement and insight points could have offered a little more once everything had been unlocked. None of these things spoiled the experience, but I do think the ending could have been a little tighter and more rewarding.
☕ Despite that, I have no hesitation in giving All Hail the Orb a 💜 Tom Recommends verdict. The developer promised a short, quirky incremental game, and that's exactly what I got. More than anything, I found myself wishing there was a sequel rather than simply wanting the game to end. For me, that's one of the biggest compliments I can give an incremental game, and I'd happily recommend it to anyone who enjoys the genre.
