Tom's Verdict
๐ฐ Ancient Planet is one of those games that reminds me why I fell in love with tower defence games in the first place. It doesn't have the sprawling upgrade trees, endless content or complex mechanics that many modern titles offer, but that's also part of its charm. It focuses on solid level design, careful tower placement and making the most of the tools available to you, rather than overwhelming you with choices.
๐ง The difficulty ramps up surprisingly quickly after the opening levels, encouraging you to think ahead, manage your resources wisely and experiment with different strategies. While some newer players may find its old-school design a little restrictive, anyone who grew up with classic tower defence games will likely feel right at home.
๐ฏ Even more than a decade after its release, Ancient Planet remains an enjoyable and satisfying strategy game that's well worth revisiting. If you're looking for a straightforward, challenging tower defence experience without unnecessary complexity, this is still an easy recommendation.
๐ Ancient Planet may show its age in places, but its classic gameplay has stood the test of time. For fans of old-school tower defence games, it still offers excellent value and plenty of strategic fun.
