Tom's Verdict
💜 The first thing I want to say about The Time Game is that my struggles with it are entirely my fault and not the game's. Some genres immediately click with me, while others take a lot longer to understand, and strategy card games like this have always been one of my weaker areas. Despite that, I still found myself enjoying what the game was trying to do.
🧠 What impressed me most was how original the central concept feels. The time manipulation mechanics create situations where you need to think ahead and consider how actions will affect future turns. The game rewards planning and clever decision making, which I can appreciate even if my own plans occasionally fell apart in spectacular fashion.
☕ At the time of writing, The Time Game is available in Early Access and completely free to play. During my time with it I didn't encounter any bugs and everything worked exactly as expected. More importantly, despite getting confused more than once, I still wanted to keep playing and learn how the systems worked. If you're a fan of strategy card games, I would absolutely recommend giving this one a try.
