Tom's Verdict
I really enjoyed my time with 5 Blocks of Happiness. It delivers exactly the kind of relaxed experience I look for in a cosy management game, letting you build and grow your little neighbourhood without ever making you feel under pressure. The gentle story gives your actions a sense of purpose, while the charming visuals make it a pleasure to spend time in.
The demo also felt just about the right length. By the time it finished, I'd seen enough to understand the core gameplay while still being left wanting more. Everything felt polished too, with no bugs or technical issues during my playthrough, allowing me to simply sit back and enjoy the experience.
If the full game builds on what I've seen here, I think it's going to be a lovely addition to the cosy city-building genre. It's certainly one I'll be keeping an eye on, and I'm looking forward to seeing how the finished version expands on the solid foundations laid by this demo.
